Student Named Computational and Discovery and Engineering Graduate Fellow
Nicholas Forcone has been selected as a Michigan Institute for Computational Discovering and Engineering Graduate Fellow.
Nicholas Forcone, a new student at U-M Climate and Space, has been selected as a 2024-2025 Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering (MICDE) Graduate Fellow.
Students in the fellowship program will begin their graduate degrees at the University of Michigan in 2024-2025. They were chosen to receive funding based on their previous research and the promise they show in the area of computational methods, artificial intelligence, and high performance computing.
Forcone will study for his Ph.D. in Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering at the University of Michigan College of Engineering beginning during the 2024-2025 academic year. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2024 with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and Computer Science from the University of Miami. Forcone is interested in developing numerical models for weather and climate prediction, and he will do research with Professor Christiane Jablonowski, Ph.D.
