U-M Leaders Named to AGU Offices
Several leaders from U-M Climate and Space have been elected to serve on the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Council.
The U-M Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering would like to congratulate several of our leaders who have been elected to serve on the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Council.
Maya Fields, a student who is studying in the Ph.D. program at U-M Climate and Space, was elected to serve as one of the student representatives on the council. Professor Mike Liemohn was elected to serve as the Section President for Space Physics and Aeronomy (SPA).
The department would also like to congratulate Dr. Weichao Tu, who visited U-M Climate and Space to give a lecture in the seminar series and currently works as Associate Professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at West Virginia University. She has been elected to Magnetosphere Secretary for the SPA.
The newly elected AGU board and council members will begin familiarizing themselves with their roles in the coming weeks. In early 2025, they will be invited to join continuing members for a comprehensive leadership orientation. Then they will transition into their leadership roles and collaborate to achieve AGU’s strategic goals.
