Shi Wins Climate & Space Student Photography Contest
Tong Shi, is honored as the winner of the new Climate and Space Student Photography Contest at U-M Climate and Space.
A winner has been announced in the Climate and Space Student Photography Contest, hosted by the U-M Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering in the spring.
Tong Shi, a graduate student studying space sciences, won the challenge with his photograph of the Milky Way. He also submitted a photograph of the 2017 Solar Eclipse and Star Trails above Quebec, Canada.
An Honorable Mention was also awarded to Nicholas Dewhirst, an undergraduate student studying climate and meteorology, for his photography of the Aurora Borealis in Michigan.
The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize and the honor of seeing their photography exhibited in the hallways of the Climate and Space Research Building on the University of Michigan’s North Campus. The photos were scored by a team of individuals from the department, representing students, faculty and staff, and the winning photo.
