Kasper Named American Physical Society Fellow
Professor Justin C. Kasper, Ph.D., has been named a 2022 Fellow of the American Physical Society.
Professor Justin C. Kasper, Ph.D., who teaches at U-M Climate and Space and works as Deputy Chief Technology Officer at BWX Technologies, has been named a 2022 Fellow of the American Physical Society.
Fellowship in the American Physical Society is bestowed on individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the enterprise of physics. Kasper has been honored for making fundamental contributions to the understanding of instabilities, collisions, and heating in the solar wind, and for conceiving and building innovative spacecraft instrumentation that has advanced the field of space plasma physics.
The APS Fellowship Program was created to recognize members who have made advances in physics through original research and publication, or made significant innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology. They can also make significant contributions through the teaching of physics or service and participation in the activities of the Society.
Fellowship is a distinct honor signifying recognition by one’s professional peers. Each year, no more than one half of one percent of the society’s membership (excluding student members) is recognized by their peers for election to the status of Fellow of the American Physical Society.
